VOLUNTEER

Parents and Friends

Parent and friend participation is a very important part of our preschool. The Committee of Management and Educators rely on voluntary support to ensure that the preschool remains financially viable and the quality of the educational program is maintained. Children love seeing their parents and friends involved at preschool.

Volunteers are needed throughout the year to fill duty rosters for each group, assist with laundry, clean indoor equipment, assist with fundraising events, attend working bees and participate on the committee. We also welcome volunteers with special skills and interests that can offer their expertise to our program.

Fundraising

Viewbank Preschool is a not-for-profit organisation. We rely on grants, fundraising events and activities to raise funds to support our program and provide new and updated facilities for the children. Recent additions through fundraising include an area of synthetic turf and a new sandpit cover.

As part of the local community we invite local businesses, retailers and kinder families to sponsor our fundraising efforts. We, in turn, support our sponsors by advertising their businesses to our kinder community.

Major fundraising events have included sausage sizzles and the annual ‘Lapathon’ -children are ‘sponsored’ to complete an obstacle course around the kinder grounds.

There are many ways to support the kinder from raffles to Bunnings BBQs.

Playground Maintenance

Viewbank preschool is fortunate to have such an extensive outdoor area. Our maintenance days are usually held once per term on a Saturday or Sunday morning and are an integral part of maintaining the grounds and equipment. Family support enables us to maintain a clean, safe and inviting environment for the children.

Whether it’s pruning, tightening screws, sweeping, or mulching, working bees are a rewarding and fun way to support the preschool. Children are welcome to attend and refreshments provided. No D-I-Y skills required!
